Tom Raynor

CEO

Tom has seen every side of the running industry.  Since he started running cross country in the mid 1960's, Tom’s background includes being a collegiate athlete at Georgia State University, a coach at Vanderbilt, a specialty retail clerk, an early employee of Nike and a marketing director at Brooks.  Tom also served as a press aide to the future United States President, Jimmy Carter, who was then Governor of Georgia.

In 1991, Tom was hired by the founder of Fleet Feet Sports, Sally Edwards.  In 1993, he purchased the franchise company from Sally and his focus turned to resurrecting the floundering organization.  His ability to recognize the needs of the company and the industry allowed him to save the brand.

Tom currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Fleet Feet Incorporated.  He continues influencing the direction of the brand and plays an invaluable role as the company visionary.  In 2007, Tom was inducted into the Running USA Hall of Champions for his leadership, innovation, and outstanding contributions to running.  In 2010, he was inducted into the Independent Running Retailers Association (IRRA) Hall of Fame.  And in 2011, Tom was honored with an induction into the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) Hall of Fame, the highest honor one can achieve in the sporting goods industry. Tom’s  love of running, and his unmatched passion to help people succeed continues undiminished today.
