
Las Vegas, Nevada
Fleet Feet Sports Las Vegas became the 83rd franchise when it opened on April 24th and is owned and operated by Jim and Theresa McNally along with Keen and Sunny Ellsworth. The franchise is located in the Summerlin section of Las Vegas on a walking/running path.
Starting their own businesses is nothing new to our new franchisees in Las Vegas. Before becoming a Fleet Feet Sports franchisee, Jim McNally ran his own custom aquarium business. His wife, Theresa, maintained her own freelance video editing business. Keen Ellsworth is the founding partner of Ellsworth, Moody and Bennion, a Las Vegas law firm. Over the past few years, the McNallys and Ellsworths have begun regularly participating in numerous races in Nevada, including 5ks and half marathons.
Bend, Oregon
Fleet Feet Sports Bend, owned and operated by Rod and Katie Bien, became the 82nd franchise and the first franchise in the Beaver State by opening on April 3rd. The Bien's selected a location on the upcoming Westside of the city where they converted a house/office building into a store that truly represents the Fleet Feet Sports model.
Brookfield, Wisconsin
On March 6, 2008, Fleet Feet Sports Brookfield opened its doors. Lauri and Rusty Sergent are the operators of this location in the suburbs of Milwaukee. It is the second Fleet Feet Sports store in the state of Wisconsin.
Edmond, Oklahoma
On December 6, 2007 Mike and Alicia Detter opened the 80th set of doors in the Fleet Feet Sports franchise in Edmond, Oklahoma. Mike and Alicia have been longtime customers of Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa where they each took part in various training programs, ultimately deciding to take the Fleet Feet Sports model to Edmond, a northeast suburb of Oklahoma City.
Fleet Feet Sports Edmond is located in a brand new strip center that is in a high traffic retail area, adjacent to the University of Central Oklahoma. Pollen grain yellow, sage green, and autumn maple red on the wall, combined with a polished concrete floor and high open ceiling painted chocolate brown, offer a warm and inviting feel to the customer. The Detter’s completed their vision of a Mission style look by way of OPTO fixturing, a custom cash wrap and bra cabinet, and various pieces of furniture that complement their store layout.
Birmingham, Alabama
Andy and Megyn Avedisian opened Fleet Feet Sports Birmingham on November 1, 2007. Andy was a longtime employee of Fleet Feet Sports Duluth/Johns Creek and was instrumental in opening the new Fleet Feet Sports Lawrenceville location. He and Megyn relocated to the greater Birmingham area during late summer 2007 in order to start being involved in the local fitness community.
The 78th Fleet Feet Sports store is located in a brand new mixed-use development at the edge of Birmingham and the affluent suburb of Mountain Brook. Light blue walls and brown scored concrete flooring accentuate the FITLOSOPHY™ marketing campaign and reflect Andy and his staff’s commitment to FIT. The 2000 square foot space boasts Opto fixtures, ample dressing rooms and comfortable leather fitting chairs.
Baton Rouge, Louisianna
The first Fleet Feet Sports store in the state of Louisiana opened in Baton Rouge on November 29, 2007. Owners Michelle and Francis Meyer are longtime residents of the greater Baton Rouge area, and by all accounts personally know every one of the city’s residents.
The seventy-ninth Fleet Feet Sports store is located in a new retail space a couple of miles from the LSU campus and its excellent running routes. The nearly 2000 square foot store boasts a simple elegance with its exposed ceilings, scored concrete floors, and elegant cash wrap. And of course, the store has a flat screen TV to keep score of SEC football games in the fall.
Boca Raton, Florida
On October 4, 2007, Matt and Tara Baker opened the 77th Fleet Feet Sports franchise in Boca Raton, Florida. The Bakers have significant relationships within the Boca Raton and south Florida marketplaces as well as great connections within the local running community.
Tara is a graduate of the University of South Florida and obtained her Master’s in Social Work from Barry University. She is a certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. Matt received his Masters in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami and served as the Athletic Director for the Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center for the past 11 years.
The Bakers selected a 2,400 square foot location on the west side of Boca Raton. With high ceilings, polished concrete flooring, faux painted walls behind the apparel section and a brick backdrop for footwear, Fleet Feet Boca Raton offers a warm and inviting feel to the customer.
Lawrenceville, Georgia
On June 19th, 2007 Joe and Shannon Braley, owners of Fleet Feet Sports, Johns Creek (formerly Duluth) officially opened their doors in Lawrenceville for business. The new store occupies a 100-year old building located in downtown Historic Square and boasts 3750 square feet of hard wood floors and brick walls. No slat wall adorns the property, as Joe and Shannon decided to reuse the wood from the stock room floor (which is now concrete) to help create all of their fixtures and cash wrap.
While located 14 miles from Johns Creek, congested traffic translates to an hour-long commute between there and Lawrenceville. "One of the reasons we opened in this location was to satisfy and grow our customer base," says Joe. "We had people traveling from this location to our Johns Creek store, but they only made the trip once or twice a year because of the traffic
Fleet Feet Sports, Lawrenceville has scheduled their Grand Opening for the second weekend in September. They are planning a Diva Night, Spike Night in conjunction with a field day competition, and they will have strong vendor support and participation all day Saturday during the Grand Opening.
