A reliable favorite is now even better

The Kinvara is a well-known and well-loved staple in Saucony’s line up. It’s remained a reliable favorite update after update. And the 9th generation is no exception. In fact, this time, according to testers, it’s even better.

The Deets:

Weight: 7.5 oz for men’s size 9; 6.5 oz for women’s size 7
Heel-to-toe drop: 4mm (23mm heel to 19mm toe)
MSRP: $110 (free shipping)

FIT

As you’ve come to expect from Saucony, the Kinvara is comfortable right out of the box. It feels like a skillful and seemingly impossible combo of plush cushion and bounce underfoot (that’s the addition of Saucony’s proprietary EVERUN topsole). What’s more, the toe-box is extra roomy, thanks to breathable engineered mesh that both holds the foot and stretches for optimal wiggle room and toe off. The cushioning and cut around the heel and ankle is so comfortable it goes without notice and, the flat laces and lightweight overlays work in tandem for an even lace-up from the top of the shoe to the tongue.

RIDE

The combination of EVERRUN throughout the entire shoe, woven heel support, and an EVA midsole ensure that the Kinvara 9 is a firm, fast, bouncy, and lightweight neutral trainer.

CONCLUSION

The Kinvara 9 is ideal for tempos, longer fartleck workouts on the road, and even long runs when you need some extra umph in your step. We’ll go so far as to say it would make a great marathon shoe.
