Jeff joined Fleet Feet Incorporated in 2001. Jeff discovered his passion for running as a sophomore in High School when he broke 11-minutes in a 2-mile race while wearing a pair of Converse “Chuck Taylor" basketball shoes. Jeff continued his pursuit of running in college. In the early 1980's, he was a standout at Virginia Tech in distances from the 800M to 5000M, flirting with the sub-4 minute mile barrier on a number of occasions. Jeff was introduced to the business of running at his college coach's specialty running store, The Jock Shop. (Chuck Taylors, Virginia Tech, sub-4, independent running storefront of Jock Shop).
While working at the Jock Shop to offset tuition and housing costs, Jeff discovered his passion for the business of running and specialty retail. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1986, he followed his passion to Brooks Sports where he spent 14 years climbing the corporate ladder. Beginning his career as the Major League Baseball promotions manager, he went on to hold various sales and marketing positions, including National Sales Manager, Director of USA Sales and Vice President of USA Sales. After 14 years with Brooks, Jeff was ready for a new professional challenge and a lifestyle that would allow him to spend more time off the road and with his family. Jeff left Brooks in 2000 and joined Fleet Feet Incorporated in 2001, reuniting him with a long time friend and Fleet Feet Incorporated Chairman and CEO, Tom Raynor.
Jeff became General Manager of Fleet Feet, Incorporated in 2002 and then President in 2004. He has overseen the development of the company's infrastructure and management team.
In 2012 Investors Management Corporation purchased Fleet Feet Incorporated and Jeff became the Chief Executive Officer. Fleet Feet, Inc. will operate independently, and its management team will continue to run all aspects of the business. IMC will support the management team both financially and professionally in the ambitious growth goals of the company. As CEO, Jeff is responsible for all day to day operations of the company including financial performance and strategic planning.
Jeff and his wife Norris have two children and reside in Carrboro, NC.
