Altra’s Original FootShaped fit and zero drop midsole make the Lone Peak 9 a great option for trail runners, hikers and outdoor lovers who appreciate a roomy toe box and a lot of ground feedback during offroad adventures.
In our Altra Lone Peak 9 review, wear-tester Mandy said, “The Lone Peak is great for casual hikers to people running 100 miles. Runners will enjoy the extra room in the forefoot for their toes to wiggle, the grippy outsole and the cushion and comfort in this shoe. This is not an overly cushioned shoe, but you feel more connected to the ground in it.”

HALF SIZE TOO BIG ... My previous Lone Peak 4 have over 400 miles on them and I ordered the Lone Peak 9 for a fresh pair. I couldn't be happier and wish I had done it sooner. There has been zero break in time, they feel great and I'm very aware that the rocks don't hurt like they do in my old ones. I ran a 3 mile trail to see how they felt, and then jumped straight to an 18 mile day with no issues. The rock plate is built in, not removable/additional in my previous pair. I love them for the rocky, technical trails we have here. My only issue was with sizing. I've been running in Altras since 2017, at least one pair a year, and have always been a 10.5. I ordered the Lone Peak 9 online and they were HUGE. I was able to return them and got a half a size down to a 10. Thanks to Fleet Feet for their return policy and they honored the sale price that had since expired. Size down a half size! I've been running in Altras since 2017.
Seriously comfortable, love the workout they give my calves and Achilles tendons. Love the color I chose- perfect !
These were recommended by my podiatrist. I’m on my feel all day. These are very comfortable.
