Climb the Ultra Ladder 2026
The Ultra Ladder is a progressive, year-long trail training program designed to guide runners from shorter distances to their first ultramarathon. Built in partnership between Fleet Feet Folsom/Roseville and NorCal Ultras, this program supports athletes of all levels—whether you're stepping onto dirt for the first time or climbing toward a new distance goal.
Included Training Programs
- Way Too Cool 10-Miler & American River 25-Miler (Jan 11 to Apr 4)
If you’re new to trail running, you’ll train alongside the AR25 athletes with a gradual build in mileage and time on your feet. Once you complete this phase, you’ll be ready to keep climbing the ladder in the next program.
- Summer Endurance (May 10 to July 12)
This time-based training block helps you build on your hard-earned fitness from earlier in the year. You’ll boost endurance, strength, and confidence as you prepare for your upcoming 50K training!
- Rio Del Lago 50k (July 19 to Oct 31)
Here’s where it all comes together! With your solid training foundation, you’ll be ready to conquer longer miles, steeper climbs, and your biggest goals yet. Let’s go the distance—together.
