Getting to Know Coach Eddie
Eddie Walters has been our lead Training Class Coach for years! A Lincoln police officer by day and marathon coach by night, Eddie leads our Tuesday evening speed workouts from the store. When he isn't running, you can usually find him hanging out with his wife and newborn baby!
As we prep to start up the 2026 Spring Training Class, get to know Coach Eddie a bit better:
Q: What’s been your most memorable race experience?
A: Gotta give it to the New York City Marathon. The crowds are next level and you can’t go wrong with any of the pizza or bagels.
Q: Do you listen to music/podcasts/audiobooks when you run? If so, what’s your go to selection?
A: Big Bootie Mixes will get anyone pumped up and going. Gotta check it out.
Q: It’s a rare Sunday with no long run and no responsibilities. What are you doing with your day?
A: Morning stroller walk with the dogs and wife to the local coffee shop. Followed by watching some football in the Fall or binge a tv show.
Q: What is the first meal you crave the second you cross a finish line?
A: Burritos all day every day. Always looking for some Recs. #BurritoMafia
Q: What’s your most controversial non-running opinion?
A: People who stand up right away when the plane lands are the worst. Also Guac is never worth paying extra.
Q: Why should someone want to join our training class?
A: Everyone needs a running buddy. Miles together always beat miles alone.
