Who We Are and What We Do

Smiles4Tab is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2023 by Fleet Feet Roanoke's owner Matt Thompson, in honor of his late wife, Tabitha. Donations to Smiles4Tab help support small and large charitable projects that would have made Tabitha smile. Tab had an infectious energy and passion for SO many things - running, fitness, children's health, animals, and much more. By supporting S4T, you can help bring tangible change to our community. 

Impact

Cuts with Cops 2025

Cuts with Cops is the largest event that Smiles4Tab participates in, partnering with Roanoke County Police & Sheriff's Office, Carilion Children's Hospital to provide back-to-school physicals and immunizations, local hair studios to provide fresh hair cuts, and thanks to donations to S4T, we were able to outfit nearly 600 kids with shoes and socks and 300 bookbags for the 2025-2026 school year.

In our second year partnering with Cuts with Cops, we were surrounded with memories and connections that brought Tabitha to top of mind and heart - as many of the Carilion volunteers that day knew and loved Tabitha from her 10+ years career at Carilion, with most of her career time spent in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Being able to provide a great start to the school year for SO many children certainly would have Tabitha smile. Smiles4Tab is big enough to matter, small enough to care! 

Supporting Event: The Big Run Roanoke

On June 3, let’s inspire the runner in EVERYONE!

2026 marks the 10th year of The Big Run®, our annual 5K event celebrating Global Running Day. In partnership with Virginia Amateur Sports and Brooks Running, we celebrate our local communities by bringing together friends of all ages and paces to cross a finish line and celebrate movement! All proceeds from The Big Run Roanoke support Smiles4Tab, and this celebration honors her passion for movement in all forms. More details about the 2026 Big Run to follow!
